April Counterfeit Kit Challenge

This month's challenge has just been posted today and it is a "gooder"!!  I am extremely happy about this choice as it mimics the ever so popular colours in the "Portrait" and "For the Record" paper lines.

Here is the kit by a new club called, "Front Porch Kits".

Here is my kit!

Lots of goodness in here and I love the touches of black.  One of the sneak peeks at The Counterfeit Kit Club site showed a piece of paper from BG's "Urban Prairie".  I had a few sheets of this line so this was my jumping off point.  Some of the sale MLS papers went great for this challenge.  The actual kit had lots of ribbons and fibers.  In the true spirit of counterfeiting, I added one piece of yellow ribbon to my kit. ;)  I actually have an idea of how I may use it.   I cut out the trees and birds with my Cricut using my "Serenade" cartridge.  I punched the black butterflies with my MS punch.  I only pilfered one piece of paper from my "Portraits" collection pack, for this project.  I am coveting these papers for a bit. ;)  I was happy to achieve this look using older stuff from my stash!   So, if you are loving "For the Record" and can't find it (like me) give this challenge a try!!  The new design team is up and running and I am curious to see what fun we have in store for us this month!

Happy Scrapping!!  Jen

  3. Very inspiring. I too love the idea of using older stuff that I already have with combinations and colors to make it look "new".

  7. Geez Jen, here I am just feeling pretty good with the IDEA of doing the kit challenge and you've not only put yours together but have actually done a LO with it!! LOL And great minds think alike because I'm planning on cutting birds from kraft paper with my Cricut too! I have to admit also that I am still coveting my Portrait paper pack and it hasn't made it's way yet into my newly colour-organized stash.
