A Quiet Sunday

Today was a stay at home,  quiet kind of day.   While blogging this morning,  Shimelle had a giveaway of a handmade cross stitch kit from an Etsy shop.  Just looking at these kits was the motivation I needed to pick up my red sampler and actually work on it!  I sat at the kitchen table peacefully crossing stitches as I listened to the ducks and birds in the pond.  I am happy to report that my crazy looking magnifying glasses seem to be doing the trick and my eyes were not strained at all.  It felt so great to revisit this passion of mine and I am so close to finishing my sampler.  I can't wait to get it framed and up on the wall.

We spotted this amazing pelican in the pond,  so Rob ran out to get some shots before he flew away.  They always look so pre-historic to me.

Then we said Happy Birthday to Lisa.  She turned 22 today and we ate cake!

The usual silly photo of my girls...

and finally, one I think I can scrap.  Yay!!

Hope you all had a great weekend too!

Happy Scrapping!!  Jen :)

  6. Happy birthday, Lisa! Looks like you've been having fun! I almost picked up a counted cross-stitch stocking kit at Micheal's today. Can you believe they're already into the Christmas stuff? But then I thought...if I'm going to do it, I better start soon or I'll never finish in time! :) Hope you're having a great day!
