Creating With Sketches V4 Giveaway

This giveaway is now closed.

I don't know if you know this about me but I love sketches.  LOL  No news there, eh?  Well I'm excited to say that Kristine Davidson of Creative Scrappers has just completed Volume #4 of Creating With Sketches!

I was super excited to contribute a design with one of the sketches in this amazing new book.  The eBook is available today and I am so excited to be able to give one away on my blog compliments of Kristine!  Just leave me a comment and I'll do a random draw.  We'll leave it open for a week so I'll draw a name on Thursday December 1st some time after dinner.

Here's another giveaway that you can enter to double your chances!

Good luck to all.  These sketch books are such a great resource to have on hand.  They make scrapping so much more fun!

The Last Two

Here are the last two pages that I created with this month's kit from Treasured Memories.

Oh Maggie May!  How I love you even with all of your messy ways.

Here's the sketch I used from Laura Whitaker.

This was my favourite page from the kit.  I totally love this photo that Andrew took of Chantal and Thomas.  Such a great capture of a moment in time.

Here's the sketch.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Wishing you all a great day!

Before and After

I spent some time in the scrap room making it presentable once again.  How does it get away on me so?

Here's the BEFORE.  It looks like a room you would see on Hoarders.  :(

After about two hours work,  here is the AFTER.  Ahhh Much better.  Now this is an environment that I can create in.

So for the first time ever I'm jumping in on the December Daily crazy train.  Susan is along for the ride too.

I am preparing my album ahead of time and have planned a list of prompts that I will be covering.  The numbered pages will represent more the prompt than the day, unless we were doing something amazing on a specific day.  Not likely.  LOL  Next year I will do one that is more of a daily diary concept.

I'll leave you with last week's kitchen creation.  I baked a cherry pie for Susan and I to enjoy on Crafty Tuesday.  It was good.

Back To Scrappy Stuff

Well Cinderella has officially left the building.  When I open my pantry or fridge or any random drawer,  I marvel at how clean it looks.  Then I ask myself why I don't keep it like this all the time.  Then I remember that I would rather be scrapping or knitting than obsessing over dirt. Ha!

Time to share a few more pages that I created using the November kit at Treasured Memories.

I absolutely love this photo of Thomas.  He is really a thumbs up kind of kid.

Here's the sketch I used by Julie Bonner.

Another one of Thomas.  Don't all sharks dream of getting to play in the snow?  Thomas has loved sharks for years.  We got him a Lego set for Christmas that has some sharks in it and a boat that you can actually bring into the tub and float.  I can't wait to see his reaction to it!

The sketch is from Citrus Twist.

This weekend I plan on getting into my scrap room and organizing it.  It literally looks like a bomb went off in there.  It's gone past the point of mess where it effects creativity.  Yikes.

Thanks for popping in.

Going Deep

I've been deep cleaning... finally.  I've been putting it off after writing a detailed list of what has been neglected.  I wish that I could be a normal person and just do a task or two a day but that just isn't my nature.  So I went on a tangent.

The thing that I hate about deep cleaning is it turns your house upside down.  I guess a daily task would take care of this issue but I'm me and that just isn't possible.  So before the house looks sparkling clean it looks like this!

On the bright side, I have an assistant.  Yeah, Rob and I are suckers for floor cleaning gadgets.  Meet Rosie the Roomba.

I had a Romba years ago and it didn't last too long.  Not sure why I have blind faith in this one.  I'm hoping that technology has advanced and she is better made.  She is also being babied along.  Lots of canister emptying, filter checking and the trouble shooting manual is at the ready.  I've been locking her in random rooms.  She gets under things that this maid usually just ignores.  Go Rosie go!

It's been a Cinderella kind of day.

Well, this Cinderella isn't going to any ball tonight but Prince Charming did arrive home and brought me a chocolate bar.  I'm easily pleased.

A Winter Kit... or Not

One of the things I really enjoyed about this month's kit at Treasured Memories is that it is not just for winter themed pages.

Here's a photo of me and my nephew at Diane's wedding.  I love that his hair is longer than mine!

I used this sketch by Julie Bonner.

Next up a photo of some of my charity hats from a few years ago.

I loved this sketch by Laura Whitaker.

Last week when we were in Susan's neck of the woods, we finally spotted the bicycle that she has often told me about.  She actually used a photo of it for last summer's photo challenge.

I was so happy to get to see it in person.  It was parked in front of the dollar store.  Buying some more goodies I assume.  I wonder if it goes into parades.  It looks more like a float than a bike!  I love thinking about how we all have different passions in life... reasons to get out of bed in the morning.  It is what makes our world so wonderful.  :)

Wintery Pages

Winter themed pages are always my favourite.  This month's kit at Treasured Memories is just perfect for documenting winter memories.  I made eight pages which I will be sharing in the next weeks.

One of little Thomas.

Here is the sketch I used from PageMaps.

Rob took this photo of me one chilly January morning last winter.  Sometimes being a photographer's muse can be painful,  as in frozen tingling toes kind of painful.  ;)

This is the sketch I used by Laura Whitaker.

And what's been going on in the kitchen?  Soft Gingerbread cookies.

I'll leave you with a photo of Thomas.  It's his grade one school photo.  So cute!
