Well it wouldn't be summer without a list of photo prompts to get us out and taking photos. We love the challenge of keeping our eyes peeled for just the perfect opportunity. This summer I'm playing along with a list provided by Mary-Lou of Patio Postcards. A big thank you to Mary-Lou for coming up with a very interesting challenge and hosting us all. Today is the first link up. Well I have to say that I am off to a slow start! LOL We've been busy with boring house projects. Next month we are doing some travelling with Andrew, Chantal and Thomas and we'll be on the hunt.
So here are my two photos!
#1 Something Fuzzy
I think that I will forever be a lover of dandelions.
#23 Something Powered by Wind
These wind turbines were photographed just outside Pincher Creek Alberta. It always amazes me to think that wind can create energy.
Best of luck with the hunt to all the other participants!
So it's about time that I get back to this much ignored blog of mine. Last time around I promised an update on the grand baby gender status. Well I've been shopping and this might give you a hint!
We are all super excited. Here's Baby Boy Barazzuol at 20 weeks! I look at this photo a lot. LOL
So what else is new around here. Well this granny phase has me knitting more baby hats. This one is for the baby. It is 9% cashmere and is so soft!
I've also been working on more baby hats for charity.
We had a recent trip away with the girls and husbands. We went to Waterton National Park. It is in the southern part of Alberta very close to the Montana border. It is a beautiful spot.
But it was so windy!! I think it should be called "Windyton". The hundreds of wind turbines as we approached our destination should have been a tip off that we were in for a windy kind of time. For the first day I kept waiting for the wind to die down. By the second day I lost all hope. By the third day I noticed a shop on the main street named "Gust Gallery" and realized that it is just a windy place. Looking back, I really should have figured this out sooner! LOL I don't like the wind. I hate that feeling of my hair blowing all over my face. (Rob has no idea how annoying this is.) I also find the sound of howling wind to be unsettling. It makes me anxious. My mother was the same way. Here's a windy shot of us after a windy hike.
In other news, Thomas has been entertaining us with his teeth falling out. He lost two teeth in one day! Here's the first photo we received. It came with a really gross loose tooth video too. LOL
Next thing we get this photo just hours later!
I think he looks adorable with that pumpkin smile! He saved the Tooth Fairy a trip.
I also have some news on the scrappy front. I'm changing directions and have decided to give up creating 12 x 12 LO's. I'm taking a simpler approach with documenting life solely with pocket pages. These will be simple and flat pages. I'm talking Project Life cards, washi tape and some stamping. I've been creating LO's since 1999 and had the courage to count my albums last night. I have a total of 67 albums. These are mostly 12 x 12 albums and some 8.5 x 11 albums from early on in the journey. I didn't even count the mini albums. Having said that, I am excited with the idea of being able to get a years worth of photos in one album! I have exactly three sections left on my Ikea shelf that houses my albums so I'm in business for years! LOL Bring on the grand baby photos!
The scrappy room has been dismantled. It is now a spare room/man cave for Rob. Some supplies went to family and friends. The remainder is in a garage sale at my LSS, Treasured Memories. Any proceeds I get from my sales will give me a store credit which will help stock some more Project Life supplies! I'm feeling minimal! My new system fits in one credenza and an Ikea cart! I'll keep you posted along the road of this new adventure.
